BACKGROUND: Joric was a career soldier sent to Cyrodiil during the Great War between the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion. Before his deployment, he volunteered for an experiment the mages at the College of Winterhold suggested to the Nord forces, hoping to increase the rage a berserker had in battle. Unfortunately it worked too well and Joric found himself discharged from the army because he was impossible to control while in a rage and was a danger to their own side. After leaving the army and returning to Skyrim, Joric tried to get the mages to reverse their spell, to no avail. Their inability to remove his rage has given him a mistrust of magic, and he heavily relies on a calming potion he brews himself to hold down his rage episodes. However, the symptoms have been getting worse and he may resort to seeking out a "clever woman" or hedge witch who may know more than those college mages who experiment in theorectical magic.
